The best football shirt & boot combinations...
Football & fashion have been overlapping on a grand scale in recent years.
Every new shirt & every new pair of boots has thousands of pounds spent by the likes of adidas, Nike & Puma on getting their design just right.
After all, if you get it right then the design can go down in history as a classic!
With this mix of football & fashion firmly in mind, we thought we'd put together a list of the best shirt & boot combinations available right now at Football Nation.
Mix some of these combos below together & you'll be the best-kitted out player at any game you play (just make sure you have the skills to back it up).
Anyway, here goes...
1. AC Milan home shirt with the Nike Tiempo boots in black & red
Now if this kit & boot combo doesn't get your heart racing then we strongly suggest you get your pulse checked.
The iconic red & black stripes of Milan meets the boot range worn throughout his career by Andrea Pirlo - arguably the most elegant player of the last 20 years.
Black leather boots always look great, but the red tongue & soleplate of these Tiempos is what makes this combo so good.
2. Barcelona away shirt with the adidas X18 boots in volt
If bright is your thing then the combination of Barcelona's fluorescent away kit with adidas' volt X18 boots is definitely for you.
Admittedly, this combo is probably one you don't want to go trying unless you've got some Messi-like ability to back it up - there's no hiding place when wearing these.
This combo looks particularly good under the floodlights, so perfect for this coming winter period.
3. Newcastle United home shirt & Puma Kings in classic black & gold
Sometimes boots & kits just seem as though they were made for one another. We'd firmly believe that to be the case here if it weren't for the fact the Puma Kings have been around for well over 30 years!
Everything in this combo comes together nicely. Both shirt & boots are black, white & gold & on top of that both are made by iconic German brand Puma.
This is a no-nonsense combo for players that love a traditional boot, but don't mind looking great as they wear them.
4. Manchester United away shirt & the adidas Predator 18s in pink
You know when we said some boots & shirts look as though they were made for each other? Well we have a sneaking suspicion these two really were!
Seeing as the boots & shirt are both worn by adidas ambassador Paul Pogba, we definitely reckon these came with a bit of planning.
That being said, there's no denying that they're a perfect match if you fancy sporting a bit of pink out on the pitch.
5. Real Madrid home shirt & the adidas X18 boots in off-white
Of course the iconic all-white kit of Real Madrid is a classic kit to be wearing for any game, but you really ramp things up a notch when you pair it with white boots.
The off-white style of these X18s means that they're slightly darker than the kit though, which is handy because it will stop them looking like an extension of your socks.
Gareth Bale sported this shirt & boot combo a few times this season, so we're sure you'll look just as good as he does out on the pitch.
6. Barcelona home shirt & the adidas Nemeziz Messi boots
This is the first (& only) boot & shirt combo on our list that wasn't chosen purely on the basis of colours.
Sure, those white & blue boots do still look really nice with those iconic Blaugrana colours, but what could be better than pairing a Barcelona shirt with Lionel Messi's very own signature boots?
That being said, this is another combo we'd probably recommend for players with the ability to back it up.
7. Chelsea home shirt & the adidas Nemeziz boots in blue
Pairing up the blue adidas Nemeziz boots with the Chelsea home kit is a match made in Heaven. Not only do they look great together, but Chelsea are even nicknamed the blues (tenuous link much)?
In all honesty, you don't really need any fancy reason to pair this shirt & boot combo - they just look bloody brilliant together!
8. Tottenham home shirt with the Nike Tiempo boots in white
Last but very much not least, the combo of the white & blue Spurs home kit with the crisp white Nike Tiempos from the recent World Cup pack was too tempting to resist.
Admittedly, white boots take a bit of cleaning, but then so do white shirts - that's a cross you just have to bear if you're a Spurs fan.
On top of that, leather boots are easier to clean anyway, so you've no excuse not to go for this exquisite pairing.
