Hibs LFC Captain Gets Sponsored

Posted by Christopher Smith on

Women's football has been really growing in popularity in recent years, getting more television & media coverage than ever before. Almost everyone has now heard of Brazilian superstar Marta, who plays with all of the arrogance and flair we've ever come to expect from Brazilian football.

Well, we didn't want to be left out - we love the game no matter who's playing it! You might remember we've boot sponsored some professional players in the Scottish game over the last few months.

Keaghan Jacobs of Livingston & Lewis Vaughan of Raith Rovers are currently wearing Football Nation supplied boots, but now the boot is on the other foot (get it?) as we provide a prominent women's footballer with some boots of her choice.

Joelle Murray is captain of the Hibernian ladies' team and a Scotland international midfielder. She has also represented Scotland at U17 & U21 level (she played in every single U21 qualifier in 2005 as Scotland qualified for the Women's U19 championship for the first time ever).

She made her senior Scotland debut in 2007 as Scotland ladies defeated Belgium 3-2 in a friendly match. Her first international goal came against Northern Ireland in 2009.

Joelle dropped in to our Lothian Road store and was given the chance to have a good rake through our professional standard boot range. After much deliberation, she opted for the Adidas F50 Adizero boots in the latest Supernatural livery.

The boots are ultra lightweight, not to mention extremely cool looking.

We're absolutely delighted to be sponsoring Joelle with our boots & she joins a growing roster of quality Scottish footballers being kitted out by Football Nation.

We look forward to seeing Joelle line up for Hibs next season in her brand new F50 Adizero boots!
